On Saturday, 6 June 2026, the South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV) had the privilege of joining the Career Day hosted by Grace Bible Church, Centurion. This vibrant event brought together high school learners eager to explore diverse career paths and gain insights into industries shaping our economy.
The SAIV team introduced attendees to the fascinating world of property valuations, explaining how it works, why it matters, and the exciting opportunities it offers. Most learners revealed that they had little to no prior knowledge about the valuation industry. This was mostly because they did not receive prior exposure to it in school or were not presented with it as a viable career option. After highlighting the opportunities within the valuation industry, from asset valuations to advisory roles, the session helped the learners have a better understanding of the valuation industry and what it has to offer. It also helped the learners see how valuation professionals contribute meaningfully to the economy and society.
Career days like these are more than just information sessions; they are about sparking curiosity and inspiring future professionals.
