Registration is renewed on an annual basis. Invoices are normally issued in June of each year. The prescribed period for paying the annual fee is three months. That is from the 1st of June until 31st of August.

SAIV is a voluntary association to which any suitably qualified person can belong. Our objectives are centred around the interests of its members. SACPVP is the statutory body dealing with the compulsory registration of persons wishing to practise in the property valuation profession and its powers include taking any steps it considers necessary for the protection of the public in their dealings with persons so registered, and for the maintenance of the integrity, and the enhancement of the status of the property valuers’ profession.
The SAIV Member logo may only be used by Members, Fellows, Student Members, Non-Resident Members as well as Affiliate Members of the SAIV, who are in good standing. Please contact info@saiv.org.za for further assistance.
Members of the public can contact SAIV to confirm if someone is a Member of SAIV. SAIV can provide details of the Member’s Name and Membership Classification.
Many lease agreements contain a clause under which if the parties cannot reach agreement on rent reviews, then the Chairperson of one of the Institute’s Branches is requested to make a nomination of a determining valuer. The Chairperson may also be requested to make nominations for non-rent review or capital valuation matters such as for deceased estates or compensation. Please contact us for assistance with this.
It is 10 CETs per annum or 50 CETs in a five-year cycle. More information is available from SACPVP.
All CETs for events/webinars attended from 2021 are sent to SACPVP directly to be uploaded onto your profile.

Yes, you do. Once you’ve watched the recording, you have to complete a quiz and obtain 80% to be able to get the allocated CETs.
No, if you have obtained a minimum of 80% on your quiz – you will receive an email with your certificate. Please also check your spam-folder. Once received, you can upload it onto your SACPVP profile or email it to Kate at SACPVP on kate@sacpvp.co.za

No not necessary, when you click on the link you’ve received from us, it will take you directly to the Zoom platform. Just follow the prompts.
One can apply to join the programme when enrolments are open. You must be studying towards a property valuation qualification that is accredited by SACPVP and be member of the SAIV.
Not yet. The next step would be to work towards being a Candidate Valuer. For this SACPVP needs proof of either registration for subjects with an institution offering recognised courses as well as a letter from a mentor confirming that they will be mentoring you. You have to enrol at an educational institution accredited by the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP). Thereafter you have to register as a candidate valuer. Please see “Registration as a Candidate Valuer” for further details on the SACPVP website: www.sacpvp.co.za
A professional valuer is a person who has complied with the practical experience requirements for registration as set out in item 5(a) of Annexure C.1 to the Rules for the Property Valuers Profession, 2008, and has passed the admission examination for professional valuers referred to in item 1(a) of that Annexure.
A professional associated valuer without restrictions is a person who has complied with the practical experience requirements for registration as set out in item 5(b) of Annexure C.1 to the Rules for the Property Valuers Profession, 2008, and has passed the admission examination for professional valuers referred to in item 1(b) of that Annexure.
A professional associated valuer with a restriction is a person who has complied with the practical experience requirements for registration as such set out in item 5(c) of Annexure C.1 to the Rules for the Property Valuers Profession, 2008, and has passed the admission examination for professional associated valuers referred to in item 1(b) of that Annexure.
